This post and the next are all collages because I don't have the energy or the time it takes to upload each photo individually. I took over 100 pictures in just a few hours and I doubt anyone wants to look at all of them, so I've tried to narrow it down to my favorites.
Our neighbors have a zoo membership and invited us to go along one day. The weather was beautiful, warm and sunny if a little on the humid side, but it is summer after all!
Our first stop was at some picnic tables to eat the lunches we'd packed and after we walked around and saw the moose and caribou we rode the wagon out to the farm area. The kids watched the baby pigs and fed goats and we got to learn about milking a cow, and Clayton and Auggie joined two little piglets at feeding time.

The bears are super cool. There were three that we could see and when we arrived at the viewing window they were fighting. I could have stood and watched them for hours as they swam back and forth in front of the children gathered at the window.
After we left the bears the kids spent some time at the splash area. Now that I know it's there, we go prepared in swim suits and pack towels along. It's like a bonus, a trip-within-a-trip.
And when they were sufficiently watered down and hosed off we wandered over to the playground, where Katie and I chatted on a park bench and the kids ran from the lighthouse to the mosquito (that they 'bit') to the spider web to the birds nest and back again.

Excellent pictures! That looks so fun. I'd watch the bears all day too.
Looks like a fun time. I assume you got all the right monkeys home again? :)
